Numerous visitors use the „Open House“ on May 17, 2014 to tour Skywalk
Within the framework of the „Open House“ program in the new Marquartstein business park, Skywalk opened its doors to an interested public on May 17th, 2014. All visitors could take the opportunity from 10 am until 5 pm to get an up-close look at the new premises of the medium-sized company: The number of visitors far exceeded all expectations!
The headquarters of the Chiemgau manufacturer of premium paragliders and surf kites as well as the inflatable X-Gloo lightweight tent system has been located in Marquartstein since the end of 2012. More than 50 employees develop and market the new products of the divisions skywalk, FLYSURFER and X-GLOO on the new premises. Meanwhile, impressed Skywalk customers can be found all over the world! At the Open House, the public had the chance to take part in the exciting and innovative spirit of Skywalk: the employees were available for a wide variety of questions and led visitors on tours through the building. Interesting and engaged discussions took place all throughout the day. Along with the individual tours, visitors could learn about the thriving company‘s now 13-year old success story and had the opportunity to purchase selected team- and merchandising products. For the well-being of guests, food and beverages were available from the pleasant communal kitchen.
The diverse program was rounded off with visitor activities and an exciting raffle: The chance to design kites, boards or a T-Shirt was especially appreciated by all the guests, regardless of age. The best designs were awarded with a big FLYSURFER surprise package. The winner in the category of „Best Kite Design“ was Hannah Michael (age 12) from Altenmarkt. Kilian Kolb (age 10) from Grassau won the „Best Board Design“ and the prize for „Best T-shirt Design“ was awarded to Katharina Hammerl (age 10) from Oberwössen. Questions about the history of the company had to be answered correctly in order to win a raffle prize. A tandem flight, Skywalk outdoor jacket and a t-shirt in the Skywalk design were among the prizes. Unfortunately, a mini learn-to-kite course and the landing of six paragliding pilots had to be cancelled due to turbulent weather conditions.
„As a true Chiemgau company, we feel a tight bond with the community, and we are excited about the large turnout and the interest of the public in our work,“ said Thomas Allertseder, co-founder and CEO of Skywalk. „It was a lot of fun for us and our neighbors, the Wittich company, the ἀre department, mountain rescue and the community of Marquartstein to host this event and we want to thank all the visitors for their enthusiasm!“
